Parent & Carer Wellbeing
At NILU, we believe that making space for children also means making space for the adults who walk alongside them.
Home educating can be joyful, rewarding and deeply meaningful. It can also ask a great deal of parents and carers. Between planning, supporting, encouraging and responding to each day's changing needs, it can be easy to put your own needs to one side.
We don't think you should have to.
Making space for you, too.
Our Parent & Carer Wellbeing programme offers gentle opportunities for home educating parents and carers across Cornwall to pause, connect and simply be. Designed with neurodivergent families at its heart, our sessions are open to all home educating families who would value a little space for themselves.
Whether you're looking for a quiet moment, a warm conversation with people who understand, or simply an hour where no one is asking anything of you, you'll find a warm welcome here.

Our current wellbeing session
Rest, Relax & Restore
Twice each month, we gather at the beautiful geothermal pool at Jubilee Pool in Penzance for an hour of calm.
This isn't a class or a workshop. There's nothing to achieve and no expectation to join in. Simply enjoy the warm water, move at your own pace, or find a quiet corner to pause. Some people chat. Others simply soak in the warmth and enjoy the stillness.
This is just the beginning
As NILU grows, so will our Parent & Carer Wellbeing programme.
We're excited to create more opportunities for home educating parents and carers across Cornwall to connect, learn, rest and spend time together.
Future sessions might include gentle movement, creative workshops, practical talks, seasonal gatherings and other ideas inspired by our community.
We'll continue listening, learning and shaping this programme together.
If there's something that would help you feel more supported on your home education journey, we'd love to hear it. Whether it's a workshop, a social meet-up, a guest speaker or something completely different, your ideas will help shape what comes next.
