Session Details
Relaxed, outdoor sessions for home educated children, designed with neurodivergent children at heart. Based at The Dome at Badgers Food Forest in Gulval, children can explore, create, play and enjoy the land. With plenty of room for side quests and doing their own thing. When: Thursdays, term time, from 10th September 2026 Time: 12.30–2.30pm Where: Badgers Food Forest, Gulval, TR20 8XE Age: Primarily 6–12. Older children are welcome if the session feels right for them. Group size: Maximum 10 children Cost: £3–£9 subsidised sliding scale Parent/carer: Stay session WHAT HAPPENS? Lyndsay is your learning facilitator. Each session has a main activity children can choose to join, such as nature crafts, clay play, open-air cooking, gardening or silent discos. There are also books, crafts and games, with space to explore the land, follow a side quest or simply do your own thing. There’s no pressure to join in. Children can watch, dip in and out, take breaks or stay close to their parent/carer. No diagnosis is needed. PARENTS, CARERS & SIBLINGS Stay and join in with your child, follow their lead, or enjoy a cuppa in the potting shed while they explore. Non-participating siblings are welcome too. WHAT TO BRING Come dressed for the weather and getting muddy. Bring outdoor footwear, waterproofs, a snack and water. WEATHER & FACILITIES Sessions run in wet weather, with the Dome for shelter. We’ll only cancel in the event of a severe weather warning and will contact booked families. There is parking on site, followed by a short walk across grass to the Dome, and a compostable toilet.
